چکیده

A brief review presents current data on the possibilities of predicting course cardiovascular and other diseases, as well results surgical treatment in patients by assessing concentration atrial, brain natriuretic peptides, polymorphic gene variants these peptides their receptors. Significant prospects for further research this direction have been identified order to develop prognostic molecular genetic panels risk developing myocardial infarction, arterial hypertension, heart failure framework primary secondary prevention.

Focus On: The Cardiovascular System

Although heavy alcohol consumption has deleterious effects on heart health, moderate drinking is thought to have cardioprotective effects, reducing the risk of coronary artery disease and improving prognosis after a myocardial infarction. It still is unclear, however, if this effect can be achieved with all types of alcoholic beverages and results from the alcohol itself, from other compounds f...

Natriuretic Peptide and Cardiovascular Risk: Is It About “U”?

N atriuretic peptides have established indications for the diagnosis of acute decompensated heart failure in patients presenting with dyspnea, and for prognosis in patients with an established diagnosis of heart failure (American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association stage C heart failure). Furthermore, there is increasing evidence to suggest that natriuretic peptide levels may be an...

Natriuretic peptide system in the human retina.

PURPOSE The natriuretic peptide (NP) family includes atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), and C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP). Natriuretic peptides are known to inhibit vascular cell growth and regulate vessel tone. There is also much evidence to suggest they modulate vascular permeability and angiogenesis, as well as regulating aqueous humor production in the eye...

Hypoxia regulates the natriuretic peptide system.

Numerous clinical studies have addressed the role of the natriuretic peptide system either as a diagnostic tool or as a guide to treatment in many cardiac diseases. The concept behind these studies has been that intravascular overload produces cardiac wall stress that alone stimulates the synthesis and release of natriuretic peptides the result of which is diuresis, natriuresis, and vasodilatat...

The T2238C Human Atrial Natriuretic Peptide Molecular Variant and the Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases

Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) is a cardiac hormone which plays important functions to maintain cardio-renal homeostasis. The peptide structure is highly conserved among species. However, a few gene variants are known to fall within the human ANP gene. The variant rs5065 (T2238C) exerts the most substantial effects. The T to C transition at the 2238 position of the gene (13-23% allele frequen...
